01 / Index

Four editions, four different questions.

The numbers show how the series evolved. They are not replacements for one another, so start with the subject you want to follow.

02 / Desk rules

One editorial standard, four kinds of source data.

Each desk collects data differently, but sources and commentary stay separate. Readers can see both the evidence and where interpretation begins.

  1. 01

    Every snapshot has a date

Trending and App Store rankings change daily. Articles preserve the observed date instead of turning an old rank into a permanent title.

  2. 02

    Sources come before interpretation

Charts, READMEs, official product pages, and developer statements are labeled separately. Editorial judgment is not presented as source data.

  3. 03

    Unknowns stay visible

When public data lacks downloads, revenue, or team size, the gap is not filled with an estimate. The limit is useful information too.
